Band Formed 1976.
Victoria, Australia.

PAUL DUNCAN – lagerphone – drums.
MIKE ROBERTS – bass – lead vocal.
BARRY WIGGS – guitar.
MARY McDONALD – violin.
’The Ants’ are a four piece Australian Bush Band who have been delighting
audiences of all ages since 1976.
During this time the band has recorded albums through EMS Records AndréaRCA/BMG and
have provided support to British folk band ’Steeley Span’ and U.S.A. country performer
’Charley Pride’.
The band also performed in front of an audience of 160,000 at the Melbourne Showground’s
Papal Mass for Pope John Paul II.
More recently, The Ants were included on a compilation CD entitled – ’Waltzing Matilda –
The Best of Bush Bands’.
This CD was released in Australia and New Zealand and due to it’s popularity was
subsequently released in Canada and Scandinavia. The Ants have appeared on many
television variety shows and featured at folk and country music festivals around Australia.
In 1999 the band performed in Colombo,Sri Lanka and later that year appeared at the
Sheraton Resort in Fiji.
As an adjuct to their rollicking and uniquely Australian sound, The Ants are also skilled!
Instructors of colonial dance and these
