Johnny and the Strangers were formed in 1963 in Perth Western Australia.

Johnny Young was lead vocalist of the Nomads, and later known as the Strangers (not the Melbourne group called the Strangers)

The band were a spring board to fame for the young Johnny Young.

The band disbanded in 1965
